When you think of Dubai the Burj Khalifa automatically springs to mind. It’s the tallest building in the world, I couldn’t spend a few days in Dubai and not go up. I looked at a few options and decided on the Burj Khalifa high tea at the at.mosphere restaurant. The reason we opted for high tea was the value for money, to visit the viewing decks was priced approximately between £30-£110. Whereas high tea in at.mosphere’s lounge was £130 with a window seat. We really wanted to make a day of it.
We were advised when making our reservation the dress code was smart elegant, and to arrive at the Armani Hotel Dubai entrance. We arrived in the lobby and directed to an elevator and went down a level. We were then greeted by the hostess and shown to the elevator which would then take us up to the lounge. When the elevator doors opened there was floor to ceiling windows, and the view was truly breathtaking. We spent a few minutes taking photos and gazing out of the window, and then walked down the staircase to the lounge.
The Burj Khalifa High Tea Experience
We agreed to a minimum spend of AED 580 (approx £130) per person in order to secure a window seat. When seated our waiter Tariq introduced himself, he then showed us the luxurious high tea menu. This was conveniently priced at AED 580 pp.
The menu was phenomenal, I tried so many extravagant foods I have never thought to order.
The bottle of brut was popped and accompanied with berries and cream.
Then the starter was served, I must say it’s the largest started i’ve ever encountered. It included: a beef and horseradish croissant, tuna on rye bread finger sandwich, chicken caesar salad roll, smoked salmon and quail egg, lobster salad and foie gras (not that I agree with the production).
I opted for the chicken as my main course.
Then the piece de resistance, the patisseries (some topped with gold leaf) and the most amazing macaroons I have ever tasted. English scones with all the accompaniments and mini cake loaves.
Throughout the entire afternoon our wonderful waiter Tariq recommended a selection of fruit mocktails and different blends of tea, which were all included in the price. The chocolate earl grey was my particular favourite.
As you can imagine we could barely move after all the food and drink we’d consumed. But it was an amazing way to spend and afternoon, once in a lifetime, and definitely recommended.
