Time to take a break.

Easter Flowers

So i’m laying in bed trying not to feel too guilty about dismissing all Easter Sunday traditions and spending it with the extended family. But instead cooking a roast and having a chilled day at home with the cat and boyfriend. But then I conclude, sometimes we all need a break.

Major FOMO!

I’ve been pretty hopeless with social media and my blog this month, as my last post was over a month ago. Simply because I wanted to take a break. With our busy schedules, goals, dreams and chores it’s often easy to burn ourselves out. The hardest thing I’ve found is admitting defeat and taking a step back. I flick through social media and see all of my friends and fellow bloggers being so proactive, posting regularly, planning weddings and preparing for babies. How do they do it all so seamlessly?

Time to put your feet up.

But what I’ve come to realise is we all have days/weeks when we just aren’t into it. By the end of my break away from all things online, and becoming a social media ‘lurker’; I stopped feeling guilty and enjoyed the extra time I had on my hands. I’ve been focused on work, friends and generally having a good time. Enjoying myself without the nagging in the back of my head that I should be doing something more proactive for my blog. Even if sometimes that consisted of binge watching Netflix and slobbing out.

So if you’re feeling the same, my advice is just enjoy some time away, don’t force it. Because now I’m back to it, feeling refreshed and ready to start having some fun with my blog, I’m excited by what was always a hobby and never a chore.

Do you ever feel like you want to take a break from blogging and social media?

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter.
