When I heard Taco Bell Southampton was coming I couldn’t believe it. I’ve only ever heard it referenced in Friends and known it as an American fast food restaurant staple. I was lucky enough to be invited along to Southampton’s Taco Bell launch party and sample some of their menu. Geographical fact, Taco Bell Southampton is the only UK Taco Bell south of London, and Taco Bell’s 13th UK branch.
Beer and a burrito!!
One of Taco Bell’s unique selling points is that they serve beer! Thats right, beer! Just when you thought fast food couldn’t get any naughtier. Along with sampling the beer I also made my way through the menu nicely.
Let’s talk taco
Rather than listing all of the dishes I sampled I thought I’d share my particular favourites. I’ve always loved quesadilla, but I’ve never tried it with pulled pork, and it was delicious. My surprising favourite was the crunchwrap supreme, I’ve never been one for carb on carb, but the toasted wrap with a crunchy shell inside was so good, my favorite of the evening.
The crunchy taco shells weren’t for me, simply because I am incapable of eating them. Half of my taco ended up all over the table and floor.
There’s always room for dessert
Taco Bell have two options for their desert, chocodillas which I was extremely excited for. Sadly I was disappointed as they we just melted KitKats in a soft toasted tortilla. What the chocodillas lacked the churros made up for. For me the dessert decision is a no brainer.
I had a great evening, and I definitely be visiting again, it’s just around the corner from Primark so perfect for a mid-shop refuel. I thought I’d share our terrible attempts at using the photobooth, I’m going to blame the beer!
